About Me

I am not married nor engaged nor a mommy nor pregnant…I hope. Not that I don’t love all the bloggers out there that are, it’s just that I’m only 24 years old. I have a grownup job and my first grownup place that I rent with friends in Falls Church, VA, a few miles from Washington, DC. I suppose this makes me a grownup technically, although I’m pretty sure I don’t feel like one yet. I’m ok with that.

Partly because my budget demands it but mostly because I enjoy the challenge of it, I constantly take on projects to make my space more beautiful and functional. I refinish furniture, shop for things on the cheap, and make small and large fixes around our house.

I studied urban planning in college and now I work in housing and community development. My passion is building communities and spaces that help the people within them thrive. I carry out that passion on a small scale within my home, and I hope that the information I provide in my posts can help you do the same.

I believe that everyone should be able to take ownership of their space, even if they don’t actually own it, and that independence and self-sufficiency are glorious things.

Cheers to my fellow young’ins and those of you that came before us. May these stories give you the information and gusto to improve your space and your life, and maybe grow up a little along the way.
